Emmy Winners 2024

Another exhilarating emmy winners 2024 season has wrapped up, with the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony taking place last night at the Peacock Theater in LA. Hosted by Eugene and Dan Levy of Schitt’s Creek, the event was a glitzy affair celebrating the best in television. Despite some anticipation for surprises, the evening showcased the dominance of the year’s top contenders.

The biggest winners of the night were the samurai epic Shōgun and the kitchen-centered “comedy” The Bear. Shōgun led the pack with 18 awards, including historic wins for Outstanding Actor and Actress in a Drama, awarded to Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai. The show also took home Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. Meanwhile, The Bear added 11 awards to its tally, with Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach earning Outstanding Actor and Supporting Actor in a Drama.

One notable twist was Hacks’ win for Outstanding Comedy Series. The HBO show, which explores the dynamic between a seasoned comedian and a young writer, emerged victorious in a category where The Bear had been a strong contender. Hacks also claimed Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for Jean Smart and an Outstanding Comedy Writing award.

Netflix’s Baby Reindeer proved to be another big winner, taking home the Limited/Anthology Series’ top awards, including Actor, Supporting Actress, Writing, and Series. Richard Gadd, who wrote, created, and starred in the show, and Jessica Gunning were particularly celebrated. Jodie Foster was recognized as Outstanding Actress in a Limited/Anthology Series for her role in True Detective: Night Country, while Elizabeth Debicki won Outstanding Actress in a Drama for her portrayal of Princess Diana in The Crown. Supporting awards went to Billy Crudup for The Morning Show and Lamorne Morris for Fargo. Liza Colón-Zayas also earned Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in The Bear.
